Day 9 - Many Visitors

Today was a good yet very tiring day for Amelia.  She had three different groups of visitors today...

The first visitor (and I WISH I would have remembered to get a picture of them together) was her friend Zadun Ross from school, with his dad, Mr. Ross, the middle school math teacher from her school.  Zadun is one of the sweetest boys in Amelia's class.  He wore his green sweatshirt because Amelia's favorite color is green.  He made a get-well card for her on green paper with green dinosaurs.  He had a Lego Constructors set for her that she can build 3 different dinosaurs with (three of her favorite things all in one, green, dinosaurs and Lego).  And finally, he gave her a lovely green crocheted blanket.  He is a really sweet kid and we like him a lot.  Sorry Nathan that I forgot to get a picture of you guys visiting...  I DID get a picture of the first dinosaur she put together though, her favorite, a T-Rex!

The next visitor, who is staying through tomorrow (at a local hotel) drove down from Issaquah, is Amelia's grandfather (Katherine's dad).  Joe came and spent some time with us and Amelia, and they have plans to play some Monopoly tomorrow.  Amelia always enjoys seeing her grandpa (and trying on his hat).

Our last group of visitors was her principal!! Who also happens to be the mother of one of Amelia's best friends, Sarah.  They were there along with Sarah's older sister Hailey, and younger brother Sam and their dad.  They came and played at Rondald McDonald House with Amelia for a little while, and then we walked down to Amelia's favorite park, Dawson Park, and played there for quite a while.  When Amelia started to run out of energy (she hasn't played that much that hard in a LONG time, and it was tiring for her), we came back to Ronald McDonald house for a little more relaxing time of some Candyland.  After that, Amelia needed a little bit of a nap, so said goodbye to her friends, though they promised to come by another day and visit.  We were also able to hand off a stack of Valentines for Amelia's class.

She was a VERY tired girl after all of this.  We are pretty sure she is going to sleep REALLY well tonight.  It DID remind us that she is still in the "getting better" stage and the "recovery" stage.  She had a good time and we hated to stop that, but I think we ALSO need to maybe keep her play to either a little shorter intervals or a little less strenuous, at least until she gets back up to her healthy weight.  It WAS good to see her running around and having a good time though.

Today was a great day, filled with friends, and good wishes, and lots of love.  It was a great time, and Amelia got to see some of her friends and be just a little girl today.  It put a smile on my face.
