Day 5 - Baskets of Bunnies!

Okay, the title just refers to how we ENDED the day.  The first Tuesday of every month, I small group of volunteers bring in rabbits.  There were four and Amelia even got to hold one on her lap for a little bit.  She was getting tired, but I think it was a nice end to the day.

There were some other firsts for us today.  After a meeting with the school liaison at Kartini Clinic, Katherine had an appointment in Vancouver to go to and I came back to Ronald McDonald House and did laundry and some work remotely.  It was the first time that we had actually left the clinic for an extended time while Amelia was there (we had been gone for maybe an hour before, but always kind of in the wings waiting in case she needed us).  Amelia survived, seemed to have a wonderful time as usual, and didn't even notice our absence.

This is good, because tomorrow will be my first day actually going back into the office since this whole thing began last Monday.  I'll only make it in a couple of days this week, with some remote work, but going to try for more days in the office next week and start to get into a bit more of a routine.  Amelia is doing well, Katherine and her are both good with walking to the clinic in the morning and walking back in the afternoon.  It feels like I can start back to work at least part time.  I still want to be here for both my wife and daughter as they are both going to have good and bad days.

We also got our first donation on the GoFundMe account.  Honestly, I put that together just because I figured the worst that could happen would be we wouldn't get any donations of any sort.  As it is, we have one, it isn't huge, but it is someone saying they are thinking of us, and wanted to do what they could.  We appreciate that.  We appreciate everyone's thoughts and prayers, and just the time they take to keep up with what is going on with Amelia.

The biggest struggle right now is that Amelia will, from time to time, talk about how she wishes she could it this, or that... And we have to tell her that she is just taking a break, and soon, she will get a chance to eat things again...  On the one hand, I guess it is good she is interested in eating.  On the other, she is still not swallowing spit, feeling like she needs to have a spit cup from time to time, and still struggling to even drink regularly...  The desire is a good sign, the not swallowing normally yet is still a sign she has a ways to go.  Continued prayers for a speedy conclusion are much appreciated!

Thanks, God bless, and Good Night!
